Student Activist Nasim Sarabandi Summoned to Revolutionary Court

Nasim Sarabandi, a women’s rights and student activist and member of Tahkim-e Vahdat student organization (Office for Consolidating Unity), was summoned to branch 4 of the revolutionary court to clarify some issues.

According to Daneshjoo News, Nasim Sarabandi was previously arrested by security forces in October 2009 along with 17 members of Tehran council in Tahkim-e Vahdat organization, and transferred to the follow-up committee of Ministry of Intelligence. During the past months, agents of Ministry of Intelligence had made several phone calls to Sarabandi’s house to threaten this student activist and ask her to resign from her student activities in Tahkim-e Vahdat organization.

Meanwhile, Bahareh Hedayat and Milad Asadi, two members of the central council of this student organization are currently serving heavy prison sentences in Evin. Moreover, Mehdi Arabshahi, another secretary of Tahkim-e Vahdat who was released from ward 209 of Evin after 3 months of detention due to a heart attack, was hospitalized yesterday for the second time.
